What Patients Need to Know Before Arriving:
-Berk Eye Care recommends wearing a mask in our office.
*FULLY vaccinated patients can opt out of wearing a mask if they choose*
-Berk Eye Care Staff are still required to wear a mask with all patient interactions.
-We require an appointment for all frame selections.
-All services and material orders must be paid in full at time of service.
-Bring your Medical Insurance Card(s) and Photo ID to all appointments.
What Patients Need to Know Upon Arrival to our Office:
-We are no longer requiring patients to text prior to entering our office. (this
feature has been eliminated & will no longer work as of 6/1/21).
-We are no longer taking temperatures.
-We are no longer limiting capacity in our office. However, we are asking that only the appointed patient plus 1 other person come into the examination.
-Hand Sanitizer is available throughout the office

Dr. Michael Berk was born and raised in central Ohio. He is a second generation optometrist. His father opened the Berk Eye Care Center in 1953. Dr. Michael Berk graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1983 with a Doctor of Optometry degree along with a Bachelor of Science in Visual Science. He graduated with honors and is a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa honor fraternity. He is a member of the Ohio Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association, and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Optometry. He took over the practice in 1990.
Dr. John Gwin grew up in East Central Ohio and has resided in Central Ohio for several years. He joined Berk Eye Care Center in 2011 and has been a partner with the practice since 2017. He finds it a joy and privilege to provide eye care to those in our communities.Read More
Dr. Stacie Errington graduated from The Ohio State College of Optometry in 1994. She enhanced her training with an ocular disease residency at The Eye Center of Toledo. She received her Bachelor of Science degree Summa Cum Laude in Chemistry and Biology from Mount Vernon Nazarene University. She was recognized for her academic achievements in Phi Delta Lambda and Beta Sigma Kappa honor societies. She is a member of the Central Ohio Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.Read More
Dr. Emma Thompson grew up in Cleveland, OH. She is a three-time graduate of Ohio State University, receiving her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience, Master of Science in Vision Science, and Doctorate in Optometry. During optometry school, she was the president of her class. She earned a second degree through the Combined “OD/MS” program, where she completed a research project studying the relationship between eye structure and visual perception.Read More
