Your eyes contain delicate and complicated parts. The pair you’re born with are supposed to last your whole life. That’s why it’s not surprising that your vision could get a glitch. Optometrists are healthcare providers who specialize in caring for your eyes. They examine, diagnose, and treat diseases and disorders that affect your eyes and vision.
At the office of Berk Eye Care Center, we are experts at helping our patients in all aspects of their eye health. We will scrupulously evaluate your vision and patiently answer all of your questions. Your care and comfort are our top priorities.
As optical experts, we want to tell you about issues that can crop up and their remedies.
Your eyeballs are “out of shape”
Light that enters your eye can’t focus on the proper spot if your eyeball’s shape is more like an egg than a tennis ball. Or maybe your lens or cornea isn’t perfectly curved. Any of those conditions can make you nearsighted or farsighted. Eyeglasses and contact lenses can frequently provide an easy fix.
Fuzzy sight
You have cataracts. The eyes’ lenses, which are normally clear, cloud over with proteins and fibers. Cataracts usually start forming after age 55 and in both eyes. An optometrist can prescribe special glasses and lens coatings.
Eye inflammation
You’re not wearing your contact lenses as instructed by your optometrist. They must be properly disinfected on the recommended schedule and replaced when worn out. Certain kinds are not made for overnight or long-term wear. Wear and take care of your contact lenses as instructed by your optometrist!
Your glasses don’t measure up
When people hit 40, the clear lenses in their eyes become less flexible, making it tough to carry out up-close tasks, such as reading and sewing. It doesn’t happen to everyone, but those who are afflicted can get reading glasses.
You get headaches
Eyesight can change over time in ways that require stronger lenses in your eyeglasses. Eyestrain promotes headaches. An optician will examine your peepers and get your eyesight, so to speak, “back on its feet.”
